Incredible vintage jacket by Martin Margiela for his womenswear Replica line. Impeccably tailored and a classic single breasted style with a subtle blue / black pinstripe and singular button closure. Partially lined. Reproductions of second hand pieces were created by Margiela in 2002 and 2004 with an additional label inside the garment forming a description of the original inspiration piece. This blazer is based on a 1970’s boys tailored jacket.
Circa - AW / 2005- 2006. Documented in Maison Martin Margiela 20 The Exhibition catalogue which was a celebration of 20 years of Maison Martin Margiela, curated by the Antwerp Fashion Museum.
Colour - black / blue pinstripe.
